The MICROSPACE® MSEBX855 is a single board computer in EBX standard form factor with 204mm x 140mm (W x L). It is based on the smartModule855-xxx with Intel® Celeron® M or Intel® Pentium® M processor type 300 to 745. It uses the Intel® 855GME chip set with 400 MHz FSB and Intel® ICH4. As main memory up to 1GB of DDR RAM SODIMM-200 are available. The SBC platform provides all standard PC interfaces such as COM1, COM2 (all as RS232) and COM3, COM4 (all as RS232/RS485/TTL), a floppy interface, an IrDA interface, two PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, and 24 programmable bidirectional digital I/Os. In addition, there are six USB 2.0 ports, an AC97 V2.3 compatible audio interface with two stereo in/outputs, and a 100/10MBit/s LAN port. In contrast to the PC/104-Plus cards, all interfaces are connected to standard plugs; this means low-cost, cable-free housing integration. The SBC uses the Intel® Extreme Graphic video controller and supports DirectX 9 compatibility with 64MB VRMA UMA. The video controller has two different video outputs for VGA-CRT and DVI. An onboard SATA controller provides the connection of two SATA hard disks with RAID functions. Further technical features include DVI, LVDS and SVHS ports as alternative video outputs, a hardware conexant MPEG2 encoder/decoder with three channels for multimedia/image processing and a connection for TV tuners, in addition to a PC/104-Plus (ISA/PCI) extension and a MiniPCI slot. For server applications a PCI slot has been implemented to allow the connection of SCSI, RAID or other hard disk drives, and field bus boards. The EBX computer runs under all PC compatible operating systems. The integrated long-range power supply requires a voltage feed of 10V to 30V and consumes a power between 8W and 25W, depending on the CPU performance. Equipped with a new Flash BIOS with dual BIOS option, the CPU board allows to boot from different media such as hard disk, floppy disk, USB, or LAN. The board works at a standard temperature range of 25°C to +70°C. IT is tested for shock and vibration. Available in three versions, it is ideally suited for military, telecommunications, medical, security technology and image processing applications. Further options are a SPDIF sound system, PC/104-Plus PCI bus, riser board PCI bus, CompactFlash socket and a cable kit.
