The Plug-N-Run G5 module combines Intel® Core™2 Duo performance, superior I/O connectivity, and state-of-the-art graphics and memory support in a standard embedded form factor. PFU Systems' Plug-N-Run G5 is the next generation Computer-On-Module offering the latest combination of Intel® technologies in the PICMG COM Express standard's Basic Type 2 form factor.
The G5 offers Core™2 Duo processors at 2.2 and 1.6GHz. CPU performance is facilitated by the Intel GME965 graphics and memory controller and the ICH8M-DO I/O controller. These components provide 800MHz FSB support for access to 1 or 2GB of DDR2 memory, 1-x16 and 5-x1 lanes of PCI Express, and 3 Serial ATA channels. The GME965 includes the X3100 graphics accelerator making the G5 suitable for use with Windows Vista Business. In addition to these major throughput features, the G5 includes Gigabit Ethernet, 8 USB ports, High Definition Audio, a CRT monitor port, and dual channel LVDS LCD support.
This superior collection of capabilities and power is packaged in the standard 125mm x 95mm (4.9in x 3.75in) COM Express Basic Type 2 form factor. The G5 will be available with a selection of active or passive thermal solutions with module heights as low as 18mm. PFU Systems is one of the originators of the PICMG COM Express standard.
