Individual Membership Application allows individuals to review and apply for organization memberships. You can select from the available memberships and fill out contact and personal information. This application may then be sent for moderator approval, which may be dependent on the receipt of legal forms or fees.
When you have completed the application and clicked the submit button, a confirmation page will display the status of your application and provide any information you need about what happens next in the application process. Once your application is approved and your account goes current, you will receive further instructions and a login link via email. Click the login link to go to a page where you can enter a password for yourself.
Note
An approved applicant is issued a login link rather than a password because there is no way to guarantee the confidentiality of information transmitted via email. The login link provides one-time login permissions. When you click the link you will be taken to a page where you can enter the password you want to use to login from now on. You may also have the option of editing your username. Make a note of the username and pasword, since you will need to use them the next time you login.
Review the various memberships available with the organization.
Apply for memberships that are available and that suit your needs.
This page provides a list of all the memberships available with the organization along with descriptions of all the memberships. The eligibility criteria and benefits may also be displayed. The memberships could be two tiered having primary and dependent memberships. To apply for a dependent membership, you need to have the primary membership. The primary and dependent memberships will be displayed in conjunction. To view the complete description of the dependent membership, click the membership name link. The membership fee and time frame may be displayed. The same membership could be available for different fees and for different time frames. Review the list carefully and select a membership by clicking on the primary membership name link.
You may be eligible to apply for multiple memberships. All the memberships that are available in combination with the membership that you selected will be displayed on this page. The previously chosen membership will be preselected. Choose all the desired memberships and click Select.
The terms and conditions for obtaining membership with the organization may be displayed. Read them carefully and accept or reject them by clicking on the appropriate buttons. If you accept the terms, the membership form will be displayed so you can continue the signup process. If you do not accept the terms, you will not be able to apply for membership through the online signup process.
The individual membership application form is displayed. Enter your personal and contact information, your company, address and privacy preferences. When you are done, click Next to submit your application.
Many of these fields are self-explanatory, those that may not be include:
- Personal Info
Enter the user's name and title exactly as it should appear on an address label. The name and title entered here may be displayed on the company roster (depending on your organization's privacy policy and the user's privacy preference settings), in any Kavi® Groups in which the user participates and on other dynamic lists.
- Primary Email Address

Enter the email address where you will receive your login link and other member emails. Make sure you enter a correct email address since login instructions will be sent to that address when your account becomes current.
Some sites don't require an email address, but if you don't enter an address you cannot be sent a login link or automatically subscribed to the Members announcements list and will have to manually subscribe later.
- Company
Application forms vary. Depending on the organization, you may be asked or required to provide your company name.
- Preferences

Available privacy preference options depend on your organization's policies and web site configuration.
The following options may be available:
- Receive Members Email

If this is set to 'No, do NOT send general members email', this user will be unsubscribed from the Members@(your site domain.org) email list and can be excluded from template-based email tools. Administrators may take this user's preferences into account when sending other kinds of communications.
Note
This setting does NOT affect other mailing lists or contact options on this site, including those in Kavi® Groups.
- Privacy Option

If set to 'Yes, share information', user information will be displayed on the roster.
If set to 'No, do NOT share information', this user's information or entire account can be hidden, depending on the site configuration. Selecting this setting has the following effects:
Removes (or partially hides) this user from a roster of people from the same company available to this company
Removes (or partially hides) this user from membership rosters and directories
In Kavi Groups, sets 'Display my address and phone number in addition to my name and email address' to 'No'
- Membership
Selected memberships are displayed for you to review.
When you have completed the application form, you may be taken to another form to pay membership fee, if there is a fee for this type of membership. When you have completed all the steps in the membership process that can be performed online at this time, the status page will display the current status of your membership application and provide you with the information you need to understand the next steps in the application process. Once you receive membership with the organization, you will be able to login and edit your information.
